Join us for a summer of training, racing and fun. Discover the wonderful sport of Track & Field. Find out why some call it "The Original Sport"
This is a grassroots program intended to promote the sport of Track & Field in the Concord/Penacook, NH area, for youth ages 8 through 14 primarily. Training sessions will take place at Merrimack Valley High School Track beginning June 11th. The team will also attend several competitions that will be held in Penacook, at the Merrimack Valley Track, and in Concord, at Memorial Field. However, these are not mandatory.
Meeting about three times a week (Mon/ Wed 6pm and Sat 9am), and over a period of seven weeks, club members will get a chance to improve their running, sprinting, jumping and throwing abilities. Skills that we emphasize (speed, agility, strength and endurance) are invaluable, and acquiring them at an early age could be the foundation for other sports like football, baseball, basketball and soccer.
The coaching staff, MVHS Assistant Track Coach Sandu Rebenciuc MVMS Coach Chris Beyer and former Bow HS and Franklin Pierce University Coach, Dyrace Maxfield, bring together a wealth of experience from over 30 years of coaching and competing at national and international level. We are passionate about track and field, and we would like to share our knowledge and love for the sport with young hopefuls and future champions.
It is summer and we are aware that families go on vacation around this time of the year. We are very flexible in this regard, and no one gets kicked off the team if they miss practice sessions or competitions.
